Clay bowl

This is a bowl I made to practice my glazing. The outside has a bumpy texture. The glaze is blue with white and yellow spots.

Glazed Rattle

This is my clay rattle after glazing it. I decided to go for a grey blue owl with a pink stomach and brown eyes.

Slab Project

This is a box  I made out of slabs of clay. It has a cut out at the front kind of like a door. The glaze i used is grey with splatters of white.

Christmas Ornament

This is a simple Christmas tree ornament I made. It has a hole at the top for a string to be strung through. Its a forest green color with three red ornaments. It was pretty simple to make.

Mask

This is a mask I made out of paper mache. Its  a night sky with stars and a sky with rain separated by a line of clouds on the eyes. The stars are little rhinestones. There is also a bat  in  the sky but its black so it blends in.

About Me Artwork

This is a drawing I did of me thinking of all the things I enjoy. I put some magazine cut outs in it as well.  Things on it include makeup, music, and reading.

Stain Glass Window

This is my stain glass window project I did of a flower with squares in the background. I sort of did the squares just to fill up the space in the back so it wouldn't look empty.

Portrait Drawing

I did my drawing of Lana Del Rey.  I think the eyes look good and realistic but there's some parts that could be darker and more pronounced.

Art Critique

Salvador Dali Persistence of Memory: Meaning of the Melting Clocks                  "The Persistence of Time" is a famous painting by artist Salvador Dali. It was painted in 1931. It shows melting clocks in the middle of a deserted area. They are placed on  many random objects that don't exactly go together. It seems like the heat in the area is what is melting the clocks. There is sunshine in the background with a body of water and some mountains.

There seems to be mostly warm colors in the painting. There doesn't seem to be any sort of pattern with shape. The painting looks realistic with how the objects look but obviously it can  not be real. The contrast of the bright sun in the background stands out to me. The whole painting seems like it has a lot to do with nature so there isnt many bright colors.

I  think the painting is trying to show the importance of time. The clocks melting depict somebody wasting their time. The clocks are just laying out in the sun and not being put to any good use. The painting could also be showing how weirdly time passes in a dream. The entire painting itself resembles a dream as items that don't go together and are just randomly placed around.

Overall I think the painting is done very well. The craftsmanship and skill of the artist is obviously very  good. I think that the meaning really can make you think deeply about time and dreams. This is something I personally think about very often and am very interested in. The art can start up conversation and make people realize something.
